Sea Adventures

With over 130 km of coastline, and 30 km of sandy beaches, it is no surprise the sea plays such a large role in Hanko lifestyle. Enjoy a quiet day on the beach or partake in some water sports. There are numerous kite surfing, sailing or stand-up-paddle boarding opportunities available to guests.

Join us on a trip through the archipelago, visiting famous lighthouses, mountain inscriptions and spectacular views of the rugged Baltic coastline not otherwise visible to tourists.

Land Adventures

For those willing to explore Hanko and it’s surrounds, there are an abundance of activities to choose from. From cycling the coastal tracks, to exploring the town on foot, you’re guaranteed to have your breath taken away but the beautiful scenery of the Hanko peninsula.

The local Hanko Golf course is known to have the longest season in Finland, with keen golfers braving the elements and tee’ing off for up to 11 months a year.

Hanko’s tennis heritage dates back to 1880, with the current tennis club opening its doors in 1905. Largely considered to be Finland’s tennis mecca, Hanko is home to plenty of indoor and outdoor courts for you to enjoy, rain or shine.

Walk the ‘love path’, a nature trail starting at Casino Park, meandering around the coast offering breathtaking sea views. Picnic hampers and blankets can be pre-arranged from the hotel.

Food Adventures

Hanko is famous for its high class restaurants and fine cuisine, attracting world renowned chefs and food connoisseurs to the area, including the former chef to the King of Norway himself, a close neighbour of the hotel. With local restaurants preparing everything from freshly caught sushi to locally sourced moose, you will be sure to leave Hanko with every taste satisfied. If you prefer to be more hands-on with your food, we have the privilege of offering cooking classes under the guidance of Makasiini restaurant, and Neijan Tuulen Tupa restaurant owner and chef Kaj-Erik Knichter. Classes can be arranged for groups of between 4 – 10 people, advance booking required.
